The REI Co-op sells hiking, camping, cycling, fitness, climbing, running and other outdoor clothing, shoes, tools and accessories. Additionally, the store has a specialty bike shop staffed with certified mechanics.
According to REI’s website, the company invests millions of dollars into local nonprofit organizations to steward parks, waterways and trails.
In honor of the Tallahassee store opening, the co-op is investing a total of $20,000 in nonprofits in the region.
In 2022, $82,000 was distributed to 17 nonprofits across the state, including Florida State Parks Association and Florida Trail Association.
You can visit the REI Co-op Friday and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. or Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. to partake in the weekend celebration.
Each day, a giveaway will be held while supplies last, and the outdoor social will take place each afternoon from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
