Leon County kicks off 2022 Fall Season Seed Library

he season opened on August 13, at the Leon County Main Library located on 200 West Park Avenue.
The Seed Library operates in partnership with the University of Florida's IFAS Leon County Extension to help provide education and gardening opportunities to Leon County residents.
The Leon County Seed Library Program has offered seasonal seed varieties every fall and spring to residents since 2015 at all Leon County Public Library locations.
The program works to encourage local gardeners to practice sustainable gardening and learn to grow their very own delicious and nutritious foods at home.
There are 10 seed varieties that the Fall Seed Libraries offers at all Leon County Public Library locations.
Residents can receive up to three seed packets every month to grow their gardens while supplies last.

- Arugula
- Cylindra Beets
- De Cicco Broccolia
- Scarlet Nantes Carrots
- Vates Collards
- Lacinato Kale
- New Red Fire Lettuce
- Peione Parsley
- French Breakfast Radishes
- Bright Lights Swiss Chard
