July is National Parks & Recreation Month, and, fortunately for residents of the Capital City, Tallahassee is abundant in fun, expansive, and unique parks. Check out this list of parks if you are looking to celebrate Parks & Recreation Month here in town.

Brinkley Glen Park — Brinkley Glen Park offers 2.8 acres of green expanse and trails for walking, running, and jogging.

Found in the Brinkley Glen neighborhood, the small park offers a one-mile long biking trail and a stream, which is part of Meginnis Creek, that flows throughout the park.

AJ Henry Park — This hidden gem is nestled in the Killearn neighborhood and holds over 72 acres of land to hike, play sports, birdwatch and see animals.

AJ Henry Park offers a playground for the kids, a picnic area, numerous courts for soccer and basketball, and future plans for the park include a potential community swimming pool.

Silver Lake Park — Silver Lake Park is sometimes mistaken as the Silver Lake Park located in the Apalachicola National Forest, but this park is found at 3321 North Ridge Road here in town and is an ideal spot for picnicking, games of frisbee, and birdwatching.

With several floating docks and a calm atmosphere, this park is an open green space of Tallahassee serenity.

Lafayette Heritage Trail Park — This large park offers trails for walking, biking, and hiking, spots for fishing, and a playground area.

A high-rise bridge acts as one of the most alluring parts of the park, and small animal sightings are abundant at Lafayette Heritage Trail Park.
